NUMBERS DON'T LIE
NUMBERS DON'T LIE
Numbers don’t lie. We are here to put those numbers into context.
After all, racing is more than an athlete with a fast bike. It is a mosaic of variable circumstances.
Apex146 creates athlete indexes based on factors that are highly correlated to performance. These indexes are created through reference data that enable us to understand historical performance and likely outcomes ahead of events. Our Machine Learning approach allows for continual development and improvement in our forecasts and the likely reasons behind performance trajectory shifts. The methodology is scientific with invaluable art in execution by the team.

Individual Parts Make A Greater Whole
The analytical study of a complex system, such as action sports, cannot be pinned on a single deciding factor. Performance indexes cannot be studied individually. It is when these indexes are studied together within a system that they are fine tuned to offer a deeper insight to the racing world.
Over the years, Apex146 has built and optimized a proprietary index platform around timing based sports. Through Machine Learning the team has built performance indexes that cover a spectrum of focus points to better understand each athlete’s “edge” that they hold over their opponents. Studying a range of factors including but not limited to an athlete’s career trajectory, behavior, and execution during a race and overall strengths and weaknesses on specific types of circuits, Apex146 uncovers the nitty gritty details that hold the most significant weight between the flags.
Current Coverage
Formula 1, MotoGP™, MXGP, Downhill Mountain Biking, Grand Tour Cycling and World Cup Skiing.
Expansion Opportunity
While timing-based sports are the foundation of technical development, the machine learning and AI models are also highly applicable to the more traditional stick and ball sports in which transponders are used to monitor movement and position.
Weaving a story
It’s all about telling a story - creating a narrative around an athlete’s performance in any given event to better understand the outcome and more importantly, the journey to there. Numbers are universal, but interpreting those numbers in the most applicable way is a unique, trained skill. So much information lies within simple numbers and rankings – we are here to paint a picture around the numerical data and put it into context.
